All you need for the perfect summer celebration is good people, quality drinks and a brilliant atmosphere, but even with all those boxes ticked, nothing ruins the flow of a good night out like having to queue for ages at the bar. So don’t. Instead, choose one of our favourite party joints that totally nails table service.
Not only does this lively Mexican tapas bar and club have the best tequila selection in town, its Tonte Trooper is a must-try drink to share made with Cîroc vodka that’s served in a ‘Star Wars’ Stormtrooper helmet. Awesome. There’s also an extensive list of cocktails and other drinks, plus a great selection of yummy tapas dishes, which will perfectly complement your drinks and evening: from 11pm the resident DJ cranks up the music and the place takes on a carnival-esque atmosphere, with live performances from latex-clad fire breathers, snake charming and masked wrestlers.
Cirque le Soir
To say that Cirque le Soir is not your run-of-the-mill nightclub is an understatement: nowhere else has an indoor fairground area with candy floss and popcorn machines, interactive games and a giant ball pit, not to mention the snake charmers, dwarfs, contortionists, clown dancers, models dancing in giant champagne flutes and other random live acts. The presentation of your drinks at your table will be done with the same extravagance and excess they do everything else so order a magnum bottle of Cîroc for you and your gang and get strapped in.
From its name to its decor, music is very much the theme of Tape, whether you’re in the 250-capacity main club with its gramophone-style chandelier and stage set up for live music or the private members area, Little Tape, with its music memorabilia and recording studio. They also offer packages for large groups to make sure your celebration hits all the right notes, like the Tape Birthday Package, which takes care of everything from VIP entry and complimentary drinks to cakes and sparklers.
Dstrkt is all about opulence, with its luxurious decor and state of the art lighting, but it’s certainly not style over substance; it’s a sure-fire bet for a memorable celebration. Everything – from the food in the stylish, low-lit restaurant to cocktails to suit every mood – is executed to first-class standards, as is the entertainment with exclusive live shows and top DJs, during which a troop of dancers take over the stage in the middle of the dance floor.
There’s loads about Mondrian London’s bar that’s impressive with its iconic green marble bar and awesome river views, but where it holds its own is the cocktails - both in taste and showmanship, with a menu specialising in refined interpretations of the classics thanks to head bartender Aidan Bowie, who was last year crowned GB World Class Bartender. Want to know how he does it? Head there this Saturday for the World Class cocktail tasting experience with Aidan where you can enjoy creating, making, shaking and (importantly) drinking some of the best concoctions of your life. (Saturday 17 June 17, 12pm-1.30pm.)
